The American Phytopathological Society

The American Phytopathological Society (APS) is a nonprofit professional organization of more than 3,600 plant pathology scientists and practitioners whose work safeguards agriculture, food security, and the global ecosystem. For more than a century, members of APS have been making and sharing significant breakthroughs, both for science and society. In addition to providing members access to top science, networking opportunities, and continuing education, APS helps plant health take root worldwide through key initiatives that extend beyond the field. The society promotes sustainable agricultural practices to growers, endorses legislation that safeguards plant ecosystems, provides free K–12 teaching resources, and much more to advance plant health for all.

Cereals & Grains Association

Cereals & Grains Association is a global nonprofit association of nearly 1,700 scientists and food industry professionals working to advance the understanding and knowledge of cereal grain science and its product development applications through research, education, collaboration, technical services, and outreach. Membership is free and provides access to a variety of resources from scientific information and technical research on cereal grains and related fields. The association aims to keep members up to date on key issues through meetings, publications, and activities that promote networking and professional growth.

American Society of Brewing Chemists

The American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) was founded in 1934 to improve and bring uniformity to the brewing industry on a scientific level. Today, ASBC is a nonprofit, membership-based, professional association with a global community working toward scientific excellence in beer and other beverages. Society members can be found on nearly every continent and in producer organizations of all sizes, working in the beverage and allied industries, as well as in government and academia. The society works to ensure unified safety standards, provide science-based solutions to industry-wide issues, evaluate raw materials for optimum performance, and foster professional development opportunities for beverage producers and scientists worldwide. ASBC provides a variety of scientific resources to the brewing community, including the Journal of the ASBC, ASBC Methods of Analysis, Fishbone References, and multiple events and online education offerings, among others.

International Society of Differentiation

Founded as a result of the First International Conference on Differentiation held in Nice in 1971, the International Society of Differentiation (ISD) is a nonprofit professional society dedicated to the advancement of the field of cell and developmental biology. ISD seeks to provide an international forum to support researchers in cell differentiation as it relates to developmental, stem cell, and cancer cell biology through international meetings, forums for collaboration, and dissemination of research. Members receive free online access to the society’s journal, Differentiation, a multidisciplinary publication dealing with topics relating to cell and tissue differentiation, organogenesis, development, and cellular structure and function.

Potato Association of America

The Potato Association of America (PAA) was formed in 1913 by a handful of dedicated individuals across the United States. Today, PAA serves as the official professional society for members all over the world involved in potato research, extension, production, biology, and utilization. This tight-knit community is a leading voice for science-based information about the potato, providing activities that advance research, knowledge sharing, and professional connections. Members can network and fine-tune their skills in six PAA Sections dedicated to key scientific areas. The annual PAA meeting also brings members together to share research, discuss emerging challenges, and explore new opportunities across the potato value chain. For authoritative coverage of scientific developments in potato research, PAA’s publishes the internationally recognized American Journal of Potato Research.

Society of Sensory Professionals

The Society of Sensory Professionals (SSP) was established in 2008 with a strong focus on sensory science and professional development, providing a truly unique offering in the sensory community. SSP aims to advance the field of sensory evaluation (including consumer research) and the role/work of sensory professionals by sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, mentoring, and educating members. SSP balances lifelong learning in sensory science with professional development. The community helps build connections among members, supporting professional development through a variety of events and activities, including virtual workshops and webinars, the SSP Sensory Wiki, the Connectors Program, the Journal of Sensory Studies, the Journal of Texture Studies, and a biennial conference.
