Report Submission Process - Overview

Welcome to the redesigned PDMR Submissions page. The directions have been simplified, and the formatting rules have changed for simplicity and to reflect requirements for online publishing. Before preparing your report, please read all directions carefully.

Volume 17 Critical Dates

First submission form opens: November 4, 2022
First submission form closes: December 9, 2022

STEP 1: Submission of initial report for review

  • Make sure that your report has been reviewed by two colleagues prior to submission.
  • Upload your report. The initial upload form and instructions can be found on the upload page (link below). You will receive an automatic email confirming the submission went through. Payment is not required at this time.
  • The assigning editor for a section will assign your report for review within a week after the initial submission deadline. You will receive an email with your section editor's contact information once your report is assigned.
  • The section editor will review the report and notify you by email of acceptance and/or revisions that are needed. Upon final acceptance, your section editor will provide a web address and a "passcode" for Step Two of the submission process.
  • Refer to the style guide and sample report for more information about preparing your report.

STEP 2: Submission of final report to APS Headquarters.

Proceed to this step only after the report has been accepted for final publication by your section editor.

  • Fill out the online Index form as prompted. You will also be asked to fill out the "Materials under Trial" section.
  • When your report has been approved for publication you will receive an e-mail from the Section Editor. It contains a web address to the online index form and a passcode for entry. One unique passcode will be issued for each report approved.
  • Review the data entered on the form. Please check this data carefully.

  • Upload final report document. This is an extremely important step. Make sure that your report document is accessible to you from your computer and that you know where the document resides. The upload feature will assign a file name for your document automatically. In addition, final submission of your data will be confirmed.

STEP 3: Payment after final submission.

Payment for report charges is $45.00 regardless of length.

Payment Option 1 (Preferred)

After uploading all reports, go to the APS Store and use your credit card to securely pay for the total number of reports you submitted. You will receive a receipt by email after your purchase. If you would rather send payment by fax, please use this payment form/receipt. Reference each report manually on your receipt if required for accounting purposes.

Payment Option 2

If payment by credit card is not possible, you can fill out this payment form/receipt and send it with your check or purchase order to the address below. Checks should be made payable to The American Phytopathological Society. This form may also be used if you must be billed before payment.
